Day Trips

The Golden Glows ministry offers several enjoyable day trips each year. They provide a wonderful opportunity to travel to nearby or out-of-town locations to see something new, and to enjoy the fellowship of other Golden Glow participants. Attendees travel by chartered bus.


June 15 | Jeffersonville, IN

Come and see some of the things Jeffersonville is famous for: Howard Steamboat Museum, Vintage Fire Museum, and Schimpff’s Confectionery. We’ll enjoy a buffet lunch at the Kingfish Restaurant. Cost for the day is $53. Leave at 7:45 am and arrive back around 4:30 pm. Sign-ups begin at the May Golden Glows Luncheon.



Refund Information
Refund Policy for Day Trips:
To keep our Day Trips affordable, there is a need to set up a refund policy. The Golden Glow Day Trips are funded solely by those who go on the trips. If you have paid for a Day Trip and find you cannot attend, a refund will be given up to 10 days before the trip. After that deadline, a refund will not be possible, but you are free to find your own replacement. This refund policy will begin with our April trip to Crawfordsville. Of course, exceptions will be made for illness, injury, or a death in the family.



Extended Trips

In the fall of 2016, we took a 5-day, 4-night trip to the Ozarks. In 2017, Golden Glows will travel to Boston, Massachusetts and Cape Cod for a 7-day, 6-night tour. Transportation, lodging, and most meals are included. Double occupancy cost is $760. 


Senior Saints in the Smokies | May 29 - June 2 
Cost is now: $345 for double occupancy, $375 for single occupancy. We still have some openings on the bus! Sign up, fill out a registration form in the “Hawaiian Luau” Senior Saints brochure, and make your $50 deposit to travel by motor coach for our spring trip to Johnson University in Knoxville, TN. You’ll benefit from the Biblical teaching, excellent food, and Christian fellowship. Depart 7:00 am and return June 2, 5:00 pm. Balance is due May 14. Please place your check in the wooden payment box at the Information Corner. The balance is due May 14.


Boston/Cape Cod Trip | September 30 - October 6
Sign-ups continue for this exiting trip to historical Boston, Cape Cod, and Nantucket Island. Cost: $760 double occupancy; $1,053 single occupancy. Our first bus is filled. We need just 25 more people for the second bus. Flyers describing the trip are available at the Information Corner. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Remember to pick up the Travel Insurance forms and mark the third page that you do or do not want the insurance, and sign your name.
If you desire the Travel Insurance, please make your check out to, attach to the completed form, and return to the Information Corner table. Please leave your form in the box on the Information Table, and we will mail them all in. We ask that you please make your deposit ($100 per person) at time of sign-up and the balance for this trip is due by August 10.
