Articles of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible.
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, he was born of the virgin Mary, was crucified and was buried, and the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, where he sits at the right hand of the Father. From there, he will come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who comes from the Father, who together with the Father and Son is worshipped and glorified, and who spoke through the prophets and apostles. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers and is our comforter, the one who convicts us of sin, and the one who guides us into all truth.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and guides us in matters of faith and practice.
We believe that mankind was made in the image and likeness of God, male and female, that God created man and woman to complement each other, and together, through the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, to have children, to fill the earth and subdue it.
We believe that all of mankind has rebelled against God, therefore all of creation is under the curse of sin, decay, and death and that mankind is corrupt.
We believe that salvation involves the forgiveness of sins, transformation of character, and the deliverance of all creation from the body of sin, decay, and death.
We believe salvation comes from grace and is accomplished by Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. By the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of individual believers and the Church, salvation will be fully realized on the day of Christ’s return when all faithful believers will be raised and the heavens and earth renewed.
We believe salvation is available to all mankind, but comes only through faith in Christ, which includes: belief, repentance, confession, baptism, ongoing submission to the work of the Holy Spirit and the continual dying to self and living for Christ.
We believe those who have remained faithful to Jesus will reign with him through all eternity and those who reject him will be eternally separated from him.
We believe in one Church, under the headship and authority of Christ, whose followers both past and present have universally accepted and strive to live out the teachings of Christ as revealed in the New Testament.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers; through the mediation of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, believers are enabled and empowered to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence and to serve others in love.
We believe that, as those who are faithful to Christ, our first two commands are to love God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are called to go out into the world and share the good news of Jesus with others who don't yet know him and his saving grace.
